Fire Survival I Fire Resistant Wires & Cables
Fire Survival Cables are designed for continuous operation for a minimum of 3 hours at 750 °C of time during afire, other designs for 950 °C & including water spray & mechanical shock are also provided. These are used in circuits that must maintain their integrity during a fire. Traditionally, the main application for fire survival cables was in fire alarm systems, but now used in Public address system, Emergency systems in Metro Rail, Airports, Power Plants, High Rise Buildings, etc.
Construction of Cable::
Applications:
“ADVANCE FIRE GUARD” Fire Survival Wires & Cables are used in underground Metro Rail, Airports, Power Plants, Malls, High Rise Buildings, for this a total complement of cables for Control, Connectivity, Alarm, Security, Sound, and Water Sprinklers, to be used for, Access Control, Powering Emergency Lighting, RA. Systems and Building Management System (BMSSolutions),Tunnel Ventilation.
Reference Specifications:
IEC: 60331, BS: 7846, BS: 6387-CWZ, NFC32070, BS: 8434, BS: 7629
Characteristics:
- Will withstand Flame temperature of 750 Deg. Centigrade up to 3 hours without electrical break down at rated voltage.
- Reduced smoke & Toxic fumes which help firefighting and save a life.
- Does not propagate flame.
- Meets BS6387 Cat CWZ, BS7846, (950° C for 3 hours).
Circuit Integrity (Fire Resistance) Test: as per IEC 60331 1BS 6387 :
The test is carried out on the cable operational on load and burning at a temperature of 750/950 Deg C for 3 hours. The cable is put on the clamps above the fire burner of high flames. The power supply is connected to one end of cable at rated voltage and the load is connected to other end. Fire applied for 3 hours and during this period, the circuit integrity must be uninterrupted. After the 3 hours, the fire and power is switched off. The cable needs to perform during the fire.
Delivery Length :
100 / 250 / 500 / 1000 ± 10% meters, other lengths can be provided.
